Quotes & Lyrics - Heart
We are at the penultimate word for the Craft Barn's challenge and the words this fortnight are Heart and Risk. I knew immediately that I had to use this quote by Helen Keller which I have as a stamp by Inkylicious. This is a very well known quote but it resonates with me in particular because a framed copy of it hangs in a corridor of a school I try and visit whenever I am in India. You can read more about this school here.
The background is made up of Memory Box and Tim Holtz stencils with spiced marmalade, wild honey and scattered straw DIs. I embossed 2 strips with a Cuttlebug border folder and stamped the Inkylicious text and the Hampton Arts image in Archival grape. Please do click on the pic to view the undistorted image.

This is so gorgeous and the quote is wonderful! xxx
ReplyDeleteA beautiful piece with a beautiful quote which is so fitting. I clicked on the link to the school in India, love the name of it and the two children, Aditya and Mukesh, have such beautiful smiles. Fell in love with the mosaic that someone was creating :) Human faith, courage and happiness in the face of adversity always moves me, the staff at the school/home must be saints! Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
ReplyDeleteFantastic quote and similar to one from The Little Prince which i adore so much:
ReplyDelete“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
Makes me smile every time i read it. Wonderful colours and background, a lovely entry :-) xxx
I love Le Petit Prince, I've read it in French and English, it's a wonderful story.
DeleteVery profound quote and beautifully illustrated!
ReplyDeleteI have very few stamps, but I have that Hampton Arts woman. I adore it, and it immediately caught my eye. It goes so well with the beautiful quote, too.
ReplyDeleteThis Hampton Arts Fornasetti image is one of the first 'art' stamps I ever bought. It always stamps so beautifully no matter what ink or paper you use.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I had that Hampton Arts stamp, but lost it some time ago. It is probably lurking in a dark corner, but seeing it again here makes me want to search for it again! Love the quote too.
