Tim Holtz Tag June

June's tag on Tim Holtz's blog features a photo of this cute girl with a teddy which is available to download on his blog. I made the BG with picket fence distress stain, worn lipstick, milled lavender & frayed burlap DI. I randomly stamped TH photographic memoirs. The photo was tinted with fired brick and tea dye. Instead of ideology pieces I used metallic silver card. The rose is a memory box die with leaves punched & coloured with alcohol ink.

LIM 72 - Something Shiny

First let me apologise for not visiting anyone last week to comment on your entries for the Less is More challenge. I have been very busy with several sets of family visiting and various complications with the visits. There's been much to-ing and fro-ing to airports and lots of changing of bedsheets! Also sorry that this weeks pic is so bad (click on the image for a better view) I will try and improve on it if I can but white on white with a bit of bling is always going to be a challenge! On the Less Is More blog this week we have to use something shiny. I was making this card for my in-laws who celebrate 60 years together next month and it needed some diamond bling so it fitted the bill perfectly. The frilly die is by XCut and the flower is made up of a TH & Mariane dies. I used spun sugar DI on the edges of the flower to make it stand out a little more. The text is computer generated.

UKS ATC Swap July 2012 - Roses

July's theme for the UK Stampers ATC swap set by Vonny is Roses. I used a very old Funstamps Glasgow nouveau stamp which features artwork by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Each image was heat embossed and coloured in with Coloursoft pencils & Sansodor. I highlighted the roses with glossy accents and mounted them on yellow corrugated card. The base BG is an Inkadinkadoo inchie stamp.

Gothic Arches - Tailor's Shop

This is the last Gothic Arch for a while so I thought I would make an effort to participate. I don't have many sewing type stamps so I resorted to a Gothic Arch version of my TH tag for April. The embossing folder on the dummy is called swirly whirly and the stand is the TH hanging sign die. I made the rosette out of a scrap of card and added the flower (a Craft Stamper freebie) behind.

LIM 71

This week on the Less Is More blog we have to use a flourish on a one layer card. This is a very quick card. I used a Hot Off The Press template (Paper Flair Windows #1) to ink 3 windows with spiced marmalade, rusty cage & barn door DI and stamped a foam flourish (Do Crafts perhaps?) over the template in rusty cage. The text is by Hero Arts.

LIM 70 - The Jubilee One

This week's colour theme on the Less Is More blog is appropriately enough red, white & blue. Stampotique are sponsoring the challenges this month so my thoughts went to my single (but many more wished for) Stampotique stamp - Moongirl. Here she is channelling Geri Halliwell in a homage to our Queen Elizabeth. The text is a snippet from our national anthem cut into a fluttering banner. The zigzags are a new die that I've wanted for a while. I didn't have the right blue card so I stippled some Versafine majestic blue (very fitting) over a light blue card. I like the different texture it gives against the Bazzill red card. Moongirl's wings have a touch of iridescent medium to make them sparkle. Have a great long Bank Holiday weekend everyone!
I would also like to enter this in the Dies to Die For Challenge - anything goes with a die.

UKS Postcard Swap June 2012

In the sky is the theme that Sam has set us for this month's postcard. I haven't used this balloon stamp for a while - it was very well used for birthday cards for young boys but now the young boys are all men. I bought the stamp in Lakeland many years ago and it has no brand name on it. I stamped and coloured the balloons with Coloursoft pencils and Sansodor first. I didn't want to have just one central image so all 3 are stamped off the page. I masked the balloons and added broken china & stormy sky DI and stamped the bubbles by Rubber Stampede with stormy sky. The central bands of 2 balloons have been highlighted with glossy accents and I placed the TH Vintage Market text to give a feeling of upward movement.
