Quotes & Lyrics - Gift
For the 20th Challenge in the Craft Barn's Quotes & Lyrics Challenge the words are Gift & Destiny. This was a quote week for me and luckily I remembered this quote stamp I have that includes the word gift. I stamped the text and then masked the words Yesterday, Tomorrow and Today however with all the spraying and squirting the colours ran under the masks so in the end I had to re-stamp the words and add them again. The stencil by Balzer Designs was sprayed with 2 shades of Glimmer Mist (aren't these a pain to use ? They just keep blocking up) and outlined with a Pigma micron pen. The remaining background uses my current favourite - Brusho powder paints. I only have blue, yellow, green, black and white so you may start to get fed up of seeing these colours but I love the effects they create. I sprinkled yellow, blue & green and spritzed with water and gold shimmer spray. When dry I dabbed seedless preserves DI over the page and added a layered flower to the stencilled circle with a candi dot centre.
I do try and visit all of your fab entries but I don't do Facebook or Google+ so whilst I admire that work I am unable to comment on it.

This is absolutely fabulous, love all those colours and a great quote. Sadly I shan't be joining in for the foreseeable future - my crafty goodies are almost all packed away now :( No stamps, no inkpads, no nothing lol.
ReplyDeleteAnother great piece of art Rukshana. Love that Brusho effect !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background and i adore how you have used the stencil, such a wonderful quote and you used both words, yeah! Stunning page and sorry to read you won't be joining in for a while. Hope this isn't permanent as i do love to drop by and see your creations :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the background - loving the brusho effects, keep them coming!! Fab page and quote have a lovely week x
ReplyDeleteA great quote and I love that brusho background - lots of lovely colours!!
ReplyDeleteI'd not heard of Brushos until a couple of weeks ago when I saw them on another blog. But I like the effect.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the commercial glimmer mists are a pain. I have to clean the sprays every time I use them. That's why I create my own and they don't seem to clog the sprayer. Not sure why, because I reuse old mister bottles.
This is a beautiful stamp (and quote, too). Your art demonstrates that.
I'm the same as you, since I'm not on FB, G+, or Flickr.
I have never used Brushos, but they do look great, especially as I love a splattery look! Fab quote too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, the colours are so lovely. I get cross with my sprays too - in fact I've given up on them ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the splatterings and the brushos (on my wish list) background, great quote too. Hate that mica clogs up the sprays!
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean about the glimmer mists! I have just bought a few of the Prima Colour Blooms which claim to be clog-free, so time will tell... Your piece is beautiful and I love how the highlighted words stand out.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote and I love the background have to check out the Brushos. never heard of them before.
ReplyDeleteWoopsie! W e almost have the same quote - but only almost... Love the background!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background, and I like the dimension the flower adds.
ReplyDeleteI also had that quote in my stamp collection. Love your Brusho background. I've just bought some so hoping to get as good a result as yours.
ReplyDeleteI always decant my shimmer sprays into mister bottles and they don't seem to clog up then.
A very true quote. Lovely page.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous quote and a fabulous page.
ReplyDeleteA great quote and a fabulous page.......Unfortunately I also find the sprays clog up, so end up decanting them.....you get wonderfully coloured fingers doing this!! xx
ReplyDeleteGreat quote and fab background! xx
ReplyDeleteI love that quote, but as I already used it in the past went for something else.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't have any glimmer mists but my Dylusions are also not bullet proof sadly.
