Craft Barn Colour Challenge
I haven't been able to take part in a Craft Barn Challenge for a while so I wanted to take part in this one. My original idea was to use Isabelle's technique of blowing ink through a straw to make splatters. I planned to make a few brightly coloured splatters that would look like chrysanthemums in a vase but sadly I couldn't get it to work. I used watermelon, butterscotch and bottle alcohol inks but it didn't look right so I went over it all with some blending solution and a felt pad. I used the BG I made on this card (if you look closely you can just about make out some of the streaks made by the straw). I cut a Nellie Snellen circle, a Joy Crafts tag and a small strip. The Katzelkraft Norris Fleurs stamp was inked with Memento London Fog and coloured in with Faber Castell watercolour pencils. I spritzed a homemade gold shimmer over the image (unfortunately it shows up as a dirty smudge in the picture above). The cream card blank was shaded with Adirondack dye inks in watermelon and butterscotch. A couple of small flower brads held the tag in place.
