UK Stampers Postcard Swap - May

This month's postcard swap on UK Stampers is a free choice which is a big headache for me. I can never decide what to do when there's no theme to focus on - my mind goes all over the place. Fortunately I recently ordered some more yummy Alice Palace stamps from Crafty Individuals and so I decided it would be a good idea to use one of those. Although I don't 'follow' any blogs as such there are many I visit on a regular basis. Efemera Ink is one such blog. I love the wild and wacky things she creates and I have great respect for her use of colour. The idea of using Impress inks on glossy photographic paper  may not originally be hers but that's where I picked it up from.
I stamped the image with Stazon onto glossy photo paper and then used ink dusters to swipe over Impress cerulean blue, spring green and lemon yellow. I coloured in various parts with Sharpies and Staedtler fineliners. I added some speckles in spring green and tore a cloud shape out of scrap paper and brushed over some more blue ink. Foe a touch of dimension (this has to go naked through Royal Mail's delivery system) I added glossy accents on the hearts. The weather has brightened up over here and it's amazing how it makes you yearn to use brighter colours too!
