Katzelkraft Card of the Week
This week's challenge was 3 words - circle, sewing and wood with an added requirement of splatters. Although I started my cardmaking journey making cross stitch cards I am reluctant to pick up a needle and shy away from any sewing challenges but I decided to give it a go. The main image is by Katzelkraft from the winter plate which I got in a Craft Barn goody box (they don't call them goody for nothing!). It fulfilled the wood challenge and cutting it with my framelit die gave me a circle. I coloured the image with coloursoft pencils and Sansodor and added some glamour dust for snow. The paper is from DCWV Retro Prints (the first paper stack I ever bought). I used a HOTP template called Easy Stitches to help pierce some holes and then threaded some embroidery thread through. The splatters are a small Prima stamp I picked up at ally pally called firefly although Katzelkraft does a great splatter stamp that has been on my wish list for a while. I can see this little robin making an appearance on several Christmas cards this year.

Katzelkraft Card of the Week
This week we had to take inspiration from a Dior perfume advert (see below) with the added requirement of using layered papers. Being in autumn/winter mode at the moment I found it really hard to focus on spring colours but if it doesn't require some use of the little grey cells then it isn't really a challenge is it? I finally came up with the above card. The green BG is embossed with a Cuttlebug bloom dots folder to which I added some punched retro flowers and gems. The Suzy Blu image was stamped with Brilliance pearlescent beige and cut out. I then restamped parts of the stamp on various other paper/card and pieced the image together. The legs, skirt and collar were stamped with Impress cherry pink on pink card. The top was stamped on Crafty Individuals patterned paper. I cut out a hat shape from pink card and stamped it with a patterned stamp and gave her a pink belt. I have a Memory Box die for making rolled roses but it was too big so I punched out a small circle from pink card, cut out a spiral shape from it and rolled it into a rose. I sponged some cherry pink ink onto the edges of the rose for shading. The text is by Katzelkraft.

Katzelkraft Card of the Week
This week's card is a sketch using at least 1 Katzelkraft stamp. I used Crafty Individuals paper for the background, a TH lace border die and swiss dots embossed card. The butterfly and text are both by Katzelkraft and stamped with Stazon rusty brown.

Katzelkraft revisited
I have been busy on other aspects of life and have not had any time to blog recently. The new school year has started but I have no child at school any longer so it has somewhat passed me by. The Katzelkraft forum is another thing I have neglected but they have got a wonderfully smart new-look forum and are gearing up for their 10 weeks before Christmas which I hope to participate in again. It also gives me a chance to brush up on my rusty French. This week's card of the week challenge is an autumn card but with the added extra of no brown or yellow. Yikes it was hard as I tend to use my autumn leaves Kaleidacolour ink pad for these projects. Anyway I decided on a CAS card with peeled paint and bundled sage DI as a BG which I spritzed with a homemade gold spray to give a shimmer. The main image is a Hero Arts stamp, the text is by Simple Expressions and the flourish is by Katzelkraft all in Versafine habanero ink.
However having got the Kaleidacolour pad in my mind I had to make this as well:
I love the effect of this ink pad and leaf stamps (by Simple Expressions). Hopefully I'll be able to participate more frequently now.

Katzelkraft COTW - 6
For thr card of the week we were asked to use text in the background and take inspiration from a picture of some calligraphy (see below). I masked off an area and stamped the text stamp from Katzelkraft's backgrounds plate in weathered wood DI. I overstamped the flower from KTZ's oiseau musique plate and coloured it with coloursoft pencils and sansodor. The other text stamps are both from Paper Artsy petals plate 3. I added some ricrac braid.

Katzelkraft Card of the Week 4
I'm joining in on the Card of the Week on the Katzelkraft forum. We were given 4 colours to use on our card. I used the CB holly border embossing folder on the cream base card. A strip of patterned paper and a strip of glossy card with sailboat blue, latte & caramel alcohol inks. The main image is from Katzelkraft's contes et merveilles plate which I stamped with Adirondack espresso and painted with Brilliance beige & sky blue inks. I added Candi dots to finish the card.
